Shannon Santorineos – successful in Customer Success

When my good friend Raghavan proposed we bring Shannon Santorineous as a special guest for our meetup back in January, I was honestly a little hesitant. I wasn’t sure if our tech-leaning audience would appreciate a Customer Success leader. After I met Shannon and learned more about her background and journey I will admit publicly that I stand corrected 100%. Shannon has a fantastic background in software and mathematics. She made smart moves throughout her career and fine-tuned her positions leading up to what she does now, Sr. Principal Success Manager at Salesforce. Also, her experience as Demandware is integrated into Salesforce is also a very appealing to me and want to hear more about that. The members at “I want to work for _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _” in January unanimously showed their interest with the highest RSVP count in our history! Unfortunately because of the snowstorm we canceled that meetup in January. Shannon’s schedule now opened up and she is in town next week. So we are excited and proud to present her as our next special guest on April 12th.

As a preview, here’s Shannon’s introduction in his own words:

My education started with a double Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from University of Notre Dame of Maryland graduating in 1997.  Soon after I started my eCommerce career in 1999 at “Competitive Computing” as a web developer for a MCSP specializing in architecting and optimizing cutting edge (for the time) checkout solutions. Worked with retailers such as Green Mountain Coffee, Orvis, Vermont Country Store, Gardeners Supply, Crane Paper, Stonewall Kitchen and Hershey’s. Completed a master’s degree in Technology Management with an eCommerce specialization and moved into the business analyst/project management world.

After cutting my teeth on some FSDs and a few sales pitches at Competitive Computing I went on to work with Burton Snowboards in 2005 on  burton.com  and their 3 page homegrown eCommerce site.  Launched  burton.com  on the Demandware platform in 2009 after a pit stop with Blue Martini and Acquity.  Soon after I joined the Demandware team as an eCommerce Strategist for the West Coast and at that point had 12 years of eCommerce experience. I also served as Online Marketing Manager for Modern Postcard in Carlsbad, CA where I picked up experience in SEO/SEM, PPC, social media marketing and a variety of online advertising mediums. Today Demandware has been acquired by Salesforce and my title is now Customer Success Director.

I am absolutely confident that an evening with Shannon @ Demandware / Salesforce will be well worth all of our time. Please join us and help make this meetup a success for the rest of our attendees.
